THE BEST KINDS OF ARTIFICIAL BAITS TO USE

Do you find yourself procrastinating when it comes to fishing? This is something that you do not have to do anymore as this article contains plenty of insightful knowledge you can apply towards your fishing efforts. Keep reading to learn more about fishing.
Your hook must be very sharp to catch as many fish as possible. If your hook is dull, a fish will come for the bait, but not be caught with the hook. Have plenty of sharp hooks prepared before you begin fishing.
FISHING EXPERIENCE, FISHING TRIP
You can make your earthworms even more appetizing to a fish by allowing them to plump up. Place a handful of earthworms in a flat, lidded container (with air holes) that has been lined with newspaper, and stick them in the fridge overnight. The cool temperature and humidity will make them fatter.
Respect the native wildlife. Whether you are fishing, hunting, or hiking, leave the environment as you found it. Remember, nature belongs to all animals equally, including humans, fish and other wildlife. Protecting nature as you enjoy it can ensure future generations are able to enjoy the same experience.
Be careful of fires if you’re going to fish on the bank. People often smoke when fishing, and it is important to make sure the embers do not start a fire. The bank is wet, but surrounding leaves and branches can catch fire.
You need a positive attitude while fishing, regardless of how much fishing experience you have. It can be easy to lose patience and get discouraged when fishing. Don’t get frustrated if you’ve gone a while without a bite.
The “catch and release” method should be used if you are not going to eat your fish. To do this, simply remove the hook from the fish, then toss the fish into the water. This allows the population of fish to grow larger, maintaining opportunities for catches at a later time.
A long-suffering attitude is one of the most important attributes for fishermen. It’s surprising how many people don’t understand this and give up after just half an hour or so. Make sure you have the free time and patience necessary to take up fishing as a pastime.
Talk to locals to get advice about the best ways to fish. Ask them to share the methods that have worked for them. Fishing habits evolve throughout the seasons and fellow fishers are typically very happy to tell you which lure or bait has been working well for them at different times.
Fishing requires an incredible amount of patience. If you are the type who can’t sit still, fishing may not be your sport. Otherwise, you are probably going to have to gradually train your patience by beginning with short fishing trips.
If you have a hard time sitting still, then change your fishing position every hour or so. The change of scenery will give your mind something fresh and new to consider. You may also find a location where the fish are actively biting.
When bass fishing, different lures will be effective at different times. Choose the lure that suits the situation at hand. During different time periods, and different areas of the water, different lures are required. Each lure serves a different function and is used for different areas and different types of fish. It can take practice to find the right lure for each specific situation.
Don’t purchase costly equipment while learning to fish. Beginners won’t get much value from more advanced equipment. Start out using moderately priced gear, and if you determine that you love the sport, you could upgrade it at a later time.
When you’re out fishing, change the color of your bait if you don’t seem to have luck. Some fish like bright colors, and others like more subdued colors. This is why having multiple types of lures and bait in your box is important.
Always pick up after yourself whenever you fish. Fish tend to avoid areas of water that have artificial debris and garbage in them. This not only affects your catch, but it also affects other fisherman too.
Don’t head out to fish until you’re certain that you’re totally prepared for your day. It can really spoil your day to have to go back to pick up something you forgot to pack. Make sure you take some food with you, as well as proper gear, tackle and bait.
When using a catch then release method to do your fishing, pay attention to the style of hook you choose. Try a barbless single hook to start with. This will keep the fish from being injured, so he can easily be returned to the water.
Whenever you are fishing a new spot, it’s a great idea to check with a local bait shop to talk to the locals. Purchase some local made fishing flies or just buy a hat, but most important, you should be friendly. Local fishers will be friendly with you if you show genuine interest about their fishing spots. They’ll be more likely to provide good advice to enhance your fishing experience.
When employing a net to bring in a fish, always ensure the fish goes in head first. If you try to net the fish by the tail, it can easily be spooked and cause it to run which may snap your line.

FISHING TRIP

The success of your fishing trip depends on your knowledge of the area you choose to fish in. Fishing is a lot more complicated than it seems at first. Knowing the tendencies of the fish–what types of waters they like, their swimming patterns, their depth preferences–can make your fishing trip more successful and enjoyable. You can find plenty of good advice online or in a variety of books.
As far as fishing goes, your probably feel much more knowledgeable. It does take time and effort to master fishing, but if you put in the time and use what you’ve learned in this article, you’ll start getting more and more bites.

fishing shallow harbour waters - how do it

How i do it!
as the only boat i have is a dingey, i dont go very far , i did the game fishing thing as a decky on big boats out off tauranga for 15 or so years im the decky that got the inter club trophy for the mount club at the tutakaka one base a few years ago, hook that fish a 153kg stripy of cape bret in a blow) and am now back fishing for snaps how i love to fish for them in the harbour , i stray line the flats on the incomeing and high, fish the gluts and channal edges if i can find them, on the out going, and low , no sinnker no swivle,

in the channal with the tide running i use the same rig but put on a kwik change clip which i drill out so it gos over my knots , then i put on a snap swivle and then a sand sinnker,
pay out about 20 / 30 metres of line the with the reel still letting out line i hang on to the hook end and drop the sinnker, when it hits the bottom i put it in gear or get fishing , i like to fish free spool with my thum on the reel and when the snniker hits bottom i let go of the trace end ,

i use herrings which i catch with me bait net fresh is best , one /o hook in the guts of the bait with no point showing is my faverot snapper bait , the little ones leave it alown and the bigger fish love them, i use this bait for all my snapper fishing in the harbour putting a slice in the back and tail helps
How you do it?

Fishing in Paramount on Sunday

Decided to hit the Paramount for a day of bottom fishing and was glad I did.
Headed to the sea bass grounds and first drop...KEEPER!. Managed to land at least 5 keepers giving to those weeding through the shorts. What an awesome bite, must have caught 50 fish before 10 am with double and triple headers of shorts. After limiting the boat on sea bass, made the move to the deep. Landed ~ 12 ling. Had a hit, crap stuck in the wreck and I had a fish that was stuck.

After working it out with the help of the mate, I had something big! Got a really nice purple hake, one of two on the boat today with a bigger cod taking the cool. Everyone had a big bag of filets to take home.
Great day on the water with a great crew.

Now is Sunday - let fishing lol !

Got my PB blue cod today, size 10 for reference.

Friday - nice a day for fishing :D

Managed to wangle a friday off work and get out for a fish today, met service forcast was miles out as usual and Tasman bay turned it on.

We Burllyed up off the end of a likely looking reef where it met the sand and about an hour and a half's fishing had the chillybin looking pretty good and the first mate pretty green so we pulled the pin and headed in with a feed of carrots.
