fishing shallow harbour waters - how do it

How i do it!
as the only boat i have is a dingey, i dont go very far , i did the game fishing thing as a decky on big boats out off tauranga for 15 or so years im the decky that got the inter club trophy for the mount club at the tutakaka one base a few years ago, hook that fish a 153kg stripy of cape bret in a blow) and am now back fishing for snaps how i love to fish for them in the harbour , i stray line the flats on the incomeing and high, fish the gluts and channal edges if i can find them, on the out going, and low , no sinnker no swivle,

in the channal with the tide running i use the same rig but put on a kwik change clip which i drill out so it gos over my knots , then i put on a snap swivle and then a sand sinnker,
pay out about 20 / 30 metres of line the with the reel still letting out line i hang on to the hook end and drop the sinnker, when it hits the bottom i put it in gear or get fishing , i like to fish free spool with my thum on the reel and when the snniker hits bottom i let go of the trace end ,

i use herrings which i catch with me bait net fresh is best , one /o hook in the guts of the bait with no point showing is my faverot snapper bait , the little ones leave it alown and the bigger fish love them, i use this bait for all my snapper fishing in the harbour putting a slice in the back and tail helps
How you do it?
